Introducing The Dave Barron Band...

After years of getting bands together, writing sets and rehearsing only for the bands to split,
Dave Barron decided to concentrate on using his songwriting skills to write and record an album.

As a multi instrumentalist and singer playing guitar, bass, keyboards, mandolin and even the didgeridoo, the album ticked along smoothly and was released in Feb 2011 to an audience of over 200 people.

The live performance was made possible by the kind help of local musicians from bands such as Pelo and Majika, and Sarah Steenson from Majika lends her world class vocals on two of the tracks adding to the variety of the music substantialy.
Drummer Jo Blanks, previously a winner of a BBC talent contest, plays drums on a number of tracks which demonstrate his energy and creativeness adding greatly to the feel of the material.

Dave has a unique approach to songwriting in so much as even though the music he writes is rock based, there are no rules regarding what other styles should influence the process and 'Moonshine and Spiders' reflects this drawing from reggae, funk, latin and even a degree of jazz and it is probably true to say that he is influenced by everything he's heard.

Music is after all, just what it is and getting a good song is from Dave's viewpoint, the most important thing.

The band itself is accumulating a good following and are appearing at four festivals this year so far. 2012 is scheduled to be very busy so keep your eyes peeled!
